How to adapt the Society 5.0 and its development, include learning and developing some essential entrepreneurial skills

Mujtaba: What is Society 5.0?

(「 Society 5.0」とは何か?新しい社会を支える IT 技術を一挙にご紹介!, 2021)

The term "Society 5.0" refers to a future society where advancements in technology driven by human needs will strive to make life better for everyone. Society 5.0 makes just this suggestion.

But where did this word come from? Japan ought to envision a post-hunting (Society 1.0), post-agricultural (Society 2.0), post-industrial (Society 3.0), and post-information (Society 4.0) society looking forward. A human-centered society in which social issue resolution and economic development are compatible through a highly integrated system of cyberspace and physical space was the initial proposal for Society 5.0 in the 5th Science and Technology Basic Plan (a Cabinet decision dated January 22, 2016). (Cabinet Office, 2019b)

After being introduced in 2016 in Japan, a significant hub for disruptive technology, the concept was first showcased in Hanover, Germany, in 2017. In this new civilization, virtual and physical environments are blending, and technology is permeating every aspect of our everyday existence.

Industry 4.0's creations, such as Internet of Things, 3D printing, autonomous robots, big data, and simulation, are used by Society 5.0 to further the interests of people. The goal of all these innovations coming together is to raise humankind's standard of living. (SYDLE, 2020)

Beniamin: How to adapt Society 5.0?

(As technology advances, so must a person’s ability to adapt, Good, 2019)

It's important to know that although this idea was developed for Japan, it can work for any country because the problems are the same everywhere. Challenges like an aging population, weak infrastructure, declining production competitiveness, and environmental issues affect many countries, including Europe and Malaysia.

When we talk about putting this strategy into action, it's not about a sudden revolution where everything changes at once. Instead, it's about making gradual improvements so the transition to Society 5.0 is not too difficult.

In order to move to the next stage of society development in any country, it is necessary to completely reorganize the work of different systems, especially to overcome the stage of acceptance by society. And for this purpose it is necessary to educate people, to explain what they are going to and what benefits they will get from the changes.

It is also important for all governments to actively participate in the transformation not only at the national, but also at the international level. Otherwise, all changes will be uncontrolled and will not lead to positive results, as they will not become systemic.

People are generally afraid of change, and Society 5.0 is all about using technology more in our daily lives to make things better. While Japanese businesses understand why this change is needed, regular people might just see it as another government project. Without everyone's support, such a big transformation will not happen.(Forbes. (October 10, 2018). Общество-50: Японские технологии для цифровой трансформации. Forbes. )

Yousef: Problem-Solving

https://tenor.com/view/albert-gif-21939053

The process of identifying an issue, establishing its underlying cause, identifying, prioritizing, and selecting viable alternatives, and finally implementing a solution is known as problem-solving. There are several approaches to acquire and hone a crucial skill like problem-solving.

Firstly, identifying the problem:

“If I had an hour to solve a problem, I’d spend 55 minutes thinking about the problem and 5 minutes thinking about solutions.” Albert Einstein.

Sounds easier said than done, but a lot of issues persist at the corporate level due to a lack of attention paid to identifying the true issue. Understanding the issue is necessary before attempting to identify potential remedies.

Secondly, brainstorming creative solutions:

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” Albert Einstein

Once you comprehend the problem, one of the key elements is to start formulating ideas for a solution. Effective brainstorming produces different approaches. Although skilled problem solvers are aware that there are currently no right or incorrect answers, their innovative solutions demonstrate their capacity to consider a challenge from several angles.

In conclusion, simply, patience and practice. The more proficient at solving problems the more you do it. Some may elude you, but that’s all right, practice makes improvements. (How to Improve Problem Solving Skills at Work | Hays NZ, 2024)

Rawaa: Time Management

(5 Science-Based Time-Management Tips,Hering, 2021)

Adopting time management using the Society 5.0 model, which targets technological and human techniques to achieve production efficiency

Digitization-first is a key enabler, hence to make operations more efficient, time utilization and progress tracking is essential when implementing advanced digital platforms and technologies.  Manage projects using project management software, calendars, and communication tools so that work is done cohesively.

Powerful smart data algorithms must also be used to extract intelligent patterns from work tasks, detect inefficiencies in workflows and improve them.  Using this approach, entrepreneurs can analyze data and rank tasks in order of their importance to the company's profitability.

And highlighting the design principles that humans tend to, which in turn necessitate designing a design that calls for a comfortable and at the same time highly productive work environment.

Finally, we can encourage employee flexibility by teaching new skills on the job and guiding them to demonstrate their abilities in different roles in their shifts.

Management guidelines should be integrated into entrepreneurship time plans and positioned as a key factor for productivity, professional and social life according to Society 5.0.

Zhassulan: Data Literacy

(Data Literacy – the Human Element in Data | Office of Information, 2020)

Data literacy is a crucial skill in the modern world, particularly in sectors where decision-making is driven by data analysis. Data literacy is the capacity to read, comprehend, produce, and convey data as information. Similar to traditional literacy, data literacy emphasizes the proficiency required to handle data. It's about being able to transform data into understandable insights. It's a skill that enables individuals to transform data into actionable insights and it involves understanding what data is relevant in a given context, interpreting data visualizations and data analytics reports, and understanding where to source reliable data.

In the context of AI and disaster management, data literacy is a critical skill. It is needed to interpret the vast amounts of data used in predicting disasters, assessing damage, optimizing relief operations, and supporting recovery and reconstruction efforts. With data literacy, disaster management professionals can make informed decisions that are crucial in saving lives, reducing damage, and accelerating recovery.

Data literacy isn't just about interpreting data but also questioning its origins, its relevance, and its integrity. As we continue to incorporate more AI technologies into disaster management strategies, the need for data literacy becomes increasingly important to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of data-driven decisions. (What Is Data Literacy? - Ivy Wigmore, July 2015)
